After offering beautiful woody scents to these gentlemen with Polo and Polo Sport, Ralph Lauren proposed in 2003 to take them to sea with Polo Blue. As sporty as ever but still as elegant, the Polo Blue man is eager for freedom and wide open spaces, even if it means plunging into the spicy sweets of a fragrant sea with a fruity tip …
Polo Blue or Ralph Lauren’s “cloudless blue sky”
From the very beginnings of the now famous American brand Ralph Lauren in perfumery, we find the essential values of the house, as if the perfume were a direct extension of the clothing collections. Thus Polo exhaled the sporty and elegant man who liked to play polo and Polo Sport asserted himself with the same sophistication in a more eclectic sporting environment. For Polo Blue the allusion to the sporty-chic environment is of course always appropriate, but this time the stylist admits to having left a more personal imprint there.
“Just like style, a color has the power to change your mood and attitude. The color blue has always had a calming effect on me. It reminds me of the ocean, a cloudless blue sky or the comfort of my favorite jeans. Ralph Lauren for Polo Blue.
Polo Blue therefore represents the serenity of the open sea while highlighting the sporty, chic and confident man who always seems ready to push his limits. Moreover, the advertising visual had first highlighted the young model Doug Pickett but he was quickly replaced by a more mature man while really being a sportsman, Nacho Figueras. The advertising spot for Polo Blue, shot with the man who would become the ambassador of all Polo fragrances, takes us to the open sea to follow his exploits at the helm of his ship Ralph Lauren.
Between land and sea: Polo Blue by Ralph Lauren
The Polo Blue bottle retains the same square glass shoulders as its predecessors. Call of the open sea obliges, it is tinted with a sparkling azure blue which will be highlighted by its steel cabochon which is both very modern and very elegant. Note also that we owe the composition of Polo Blue to the man who created the very first Polo in 1978, Carlos Benaim.
The beautiful Polo Blue opens with citrus notes of mandarin associated with the watery and fruity freshness of melon and cucumber to create a most original acidulous-fruity starting accord. The heart is revealed in powerful aromatic notes of clary sage and basil while being supported by a nervous and lively geranium. The depths of light wood and patchouli bring a beautiful sensuality which will be associated with soft and comfortable white musks for more serenity.
“The freedom of an infinite blue sky, the energy of the open sea, a breath of invigorating fresh air. Polo Ralph Lauren Blue reinvents casual elegance. Light, fresh and hot spices. A crystal blue feel. Ralph Lauren for Polo Blue.
