Almond wood, a noble and comforting material sublimated by Van Cleef & Arpels

Born from a love story between Estelle Arpels and Alfred Van Cleef in 1895, the Van Cleef & Arpels house has always known how to highlight its taste for beautiful things and its love for the noblest raw materials. This was first felt in her sumptuous jewelry sets, before being highlighted by splendid perfumes. The Extraordinary Collection of Van Cleef & Arpels is there to bear witness to this and continues to enrich itself year after year, since 2009.
Its ambition? Highlight the most beautiful raw materials to offer you exceptional perfumes. This is how the new Almond Wood was thought, the last juice of the Extraordinary Collection, present on your shelves since March 15, 2020.

Sidonie Lancesseur signs a round and deliciously woody fragrance

To make this perfume, the Van Cleef & Arpels house turned to the talented perfumer Sidonie Lancesseur. The latter therefore had the difficult task of sublimating one of Van Cleef & Arpels’ favorite ingredients: a woody raw material, and more specifically cedar. The brand asked him to fashion a perfume like a “fantasized almond tree”. Sidonie Lancesseur thus decided to use cedar as the backbone of her recipe, while enriching it with other ingredients to enhance it. The result is a delicate and gourmet fragrance, at the same time woody, powdery and round. In addition to cedar, Van Cleef & Arpels’ Almond Wood fragrance also contains notes of musk and vanilla, for a suave and animal look. “By composing this new fragrance,” explains the perfumer, I had in mind the image of almond trees under the Italian sun. I wanted to create a beautiful contrast between the verticality of the wood notes and the irresistible tenderness of an almond accord as well as a vanilla background ”.

Bois d’Amande, a sober and refined bottle to conceal a deep richness

Of course, like all the perfumes in the Extraordinary Collection, Bois d’Amande by Van Cleef & Arpels is presented in a sober and refined bottle. Synonymous with luxury and quality, it surprises with the heavy weight of its glass. Rectangular and vertical in shape, it is embellished with a shiny and captivating black hue. A small tie is also attached to its collar, while bearing a plaque with the brand’s initials. Only a white label breaks with its dark and bewitching hue.

Almond Wood, new juice from the Extraordinary Collection of Van Cleef & Arpels

Bois d’Amande by Van Cleef & Arpels is a fragrance that is fully in line with its predecessors, such as the previous Bois d’Iris or Bois Doré. Belonging to the Extraordinary Collection, it is an exceptional and quality bias. It pays homage to Haute Parfumerie and seems to transpose all the know-how of Van Cleef & Arpels in terms of Haute Joaillerie on the olfactory level. Here, he projects us the image of a dreamed wood, of a sublimated nature. The result is a perfume of exceptional accuracy, full of emotion and poetry.
