Hello Kitty

The Birth of Hello Kitty

Hello Kitty is a fictional character that was created by stylist Yuko Shimizu in 1974 when she was working for the Japanese company Sanrio. However, it must be recognized that its name does not sound really Japanese but rather embellishes British consonances. Indeed, this surname was chosen because English culture was at that time very popular with young Japanese girls. The name of Kitty is, moreover, directly inspired by the silhouette of this character because it means “cat” in English. However, Hello Kitty was initially designed for an audience of children. No one knew then that he would become one of the most famous animation characters in the world. An animated series called Hello Kitty made its appearance on Japanese television between 1993 and 1994. It was broadcast in 16 episodes. Its English version, for its part, did not appear until much later, in November 2002. Since that day, a real wave of cats has invaded the world! This is available in the form of video games, 3D productions or multiple accessories. So let’s take a closer look at what is not in terms of perfumery.
